Technical Analyst

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Georgetown University.

Business Background: Frank Gretz joined Wellington Shields' predecessor firm Shields & Company in 1985 and heads up the firm’s Technical Analysis Group. With more than 30 years of experience in stock market analysis, he has been a frequent guest on CNBC, CNNmoney, and Bloomberg TV and is often quoted in financial publications. He is also author of Wellington Shields' "Equities Perspective," a weekly commentary which offers observations from a technical or supply demand perspective and is available on this page. Mr. Gretz is a partner of Wellington Shields & Co.

Managing Director, Dudack Research Group

Education: BA from Skidmore College

Business Background: Ms. Dudack is the founding partner of Dudack Research Group LLC. Prior to joining Wellington Shields she was a Managing Director of Research and Chief Investment Strategist for SunGard Institutional Brokerage and the Chief US Investment Strategist for UBS AG and its predecessor S.G. Warburg PLC. Ms. Dudack began her Wall Street career at the Pershing division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc. She is a past President of the Market Technicians Association (MTA), a founding member of the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA), Chair Emeritus of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association's (SIFMA) Securities Industry Institute, a past member of the Department of Labor's Business Research Advisory Council (BRAC) for consumer and producer price indices and is a member of the Women's Forum Inc. She received an MTA award for best price analysis and market forecasting in 1997 and earned the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation in 1990.

Vice President, The Brogan Group Equity Research

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Villanova University.

Business Background: Mr. Brogan is Head of Institutional Sales & Business Development for The Brogan Group Equity Research, a division of Wellington Shields & Co, LLC. Prior to joining his father and brother at The Brogan Group Equity Research, Robert, Jr. held a position with JP Morgan Chase & Co, where he worked in mortgage financing. Before joining Chase, Robert, Jr. held a senior leadership role with American Business Financial Services, a Philadelphia-based residential lending institution. Robert, Jr. brings over 15 years of investment experience to his role with The Brogan Group Equity Research.

Senior Vice President, The Brogan Group Equity Research

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Villanova University.

Business Background: Mr. Brogan began his investment career at Dean Witter & Co., Inc., in 1968. He was an original member of Dean Witter's Institutional COMPARE team (Computer Assistance to Research ) - marketing their momentum software model. In 1973, he joined Wertheim & Co Inc., to develop technical & quantitative (counter-trend momentum) trading strategies. In 1975 Mr. Brogan opened the Tucker Anthony & R. L. Day, Inc., institutional office in Philadelphia, where he worked closely with Stan Berge, Tucker Anthony’s First-Team Institutional II all-star (1974 -76). In 1988, Mr. Brogan began a new chapter in his career, co-founding BOMAR Securities. There, Mr. Brogan and his team created the world’s first Windows-based trading platform, now known as the industry leading Thomson Reuters Advanced Equity Trader (ICON). BOMAR was acquired by Reuters Ltd. in 1992. More recently, Mr. Brogan is best known for his daily Institutional Market letter "The Signal Report" and for his extensive original research on equity money flows and comparative relative strength analysis. Since 2000, he has operated a Boston office for Wellington Shields, along with his two sons Robert Jr. and Terence W. Brogan, CMT, under the name “The Brogan Group Equity Research”. The Brogan Group Equity Research provides global & domestic, daily & weekly, money flow /comparative relative performance analysis and the daily “Signal Report” & “Relative Report”. Mr. Brogan holds Series 7, Gen. Securities, Series 63, Uniform Securities Agent and Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor licenses, and is a Charter Market Technician Holder (CMT). In the early 2000s, he was a regular on the popular Internet radio show "Radio Wall Street".

Vice President, The Brogan Group Equity Research

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Business Background: Mr. Brogan is the Co-Head Market Technician and Market Strategist for the Brogan Group Equity Research which is a division of Wellington Shields & Co, LLC, members New York Stocks Exchange. He is responsible for producing and marketing The Brogan Group’s Money Flow/ Relative Performance Equity Research. In addition, Terence is the editor of a daily market letter called “The Relative Report” where he provides daily commentary on market strategy and asset allocation to help institutional money managers with their investment process. Terence formerly was part of John Hancock’s wholesale distribution team that proved investment products to retail brokers in the New York and New Jersey territory. Terence holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 65, 86, 87 securities licenses and is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT). He is a member of the Market Technicians Association and brings 15 years of investment experience to his role.
